American Breakfast Dairy-Free Recipes

Toast Egg Nest – “Popeye Egg”

Egg-in-a-Hole or Whatever You Call It
Cook time: 5 mins
Total time: 5 mins
Serves: 1
Ingredients
  • 2 slices of gluten free toast
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp Ghee, or clarified butter
  • Salt and Pepper to taste
Instructions
  1. Heat the ghee in a skillet on medium heat
  2. Using a knife, or cookie cutter, create holes in the middle of each toast.
  3. Place the toast in the skillet and then crack an egg into the holes.
  4. Allow to cook, covered on low for about 3 minutes, until the whites are fully cooked. Alternatively, you can simply cook on each side for about a minute each.
  5. Don’t forget to add the cut out circles to the pan while the eggs cook.
  6. Serve with salt and pepper
